Itinerary
Arrive in Ahmedabad, a city known for its beautiful wooden mansions, carved havelis, and narrow lanes. Transfer to your hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure.
Take a heritage walk around Ahmedabad, visiting key cultural sites like the Swaminarayan Temple and Jama Masjid. Later, explore the Calico Museum of Textiles, one of India’s leading textile museums, and the Shreyas Folk Museum, housing a diverse collection of folk art. Conclude the day with a traditional Gujarati dinner with cultural entertainment.
Drive to Vadodara (4-5 hours) and visit Pavagadh Hill, home to the Mata Kali Temple. Take a cable car or hike up to the temple. Continue to Champaner, a UNESCO World Heritage site featuring Islamic architecture, with highlights like the Jama Masjid.
On the way to Bhavnagar, stop at Lothal, an important Indus Valley Civilization site. Explore the ancient ship dockyard and remnants of ancient street layouts and workshops. Proceed to Bhavnagar, where you’ll check in to your hotel.
Drive to Palitana, a significant Jain pilgrimage site. Visit the temples on Shatrunjaya Hill, and then head to Diu, a coastal town rich in Portuguese colonial architecture.
Spend a day exploring the historic St. Paul’s Church, Fort de Diu, and relaxing at Nagoa Beach.
Travel to Gondal (4-5 hours) and explore its heritage sites such as Riverside Palace and Vintage Car Museum. Visit Bharwad and nearby villages to experience traditional Gujarati lifestyle and craftsmanship.
Leave Gondal for Bhuj (5-6 hours). Bhuj offers a mix of historical landmarks and vibrant textiles. Take time to explore the local tribal markets in the evening.
Take a full-day excursion to the Banni villages like Hodka, Ludiya, and Dhordo. Here, you’ll meet artisans who specialize in embroidery, leatherwork, and wood carving. Learn about the diverse craft traditions, including Kambira and Kharek stitches.
Visit more villages near Bhuj like Niroma (known for painting) and Bhujodi (famous for weaving). Continue to Mandvi, a coastal town with the Vijay Vilas Palace showcasing traditional craftsmanship.
Transfer to Bhuj Airport for your flight to Mumbai, marking the end of your colorful Gujarat journey.
