Itinerary
Welcome to Ahmedabad! Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. Ahmedabad, founded in 1411, is known as the “Manchester of the East” and lies on the banks of the Sabarmati River. The city boasts stunning havelis, narrow lanes, and beautiful architecture, making it an architectural delight.
Start your day with a heritage walk of Ahmedabad, exploring sites like the Swaminarayan Temple, Jama Masjid, and other historical landmarks. Later, take an excursion to Modhera and Patan. In Modhera, visit the Sun Temple, built in 1026 CE, and in Patan, explore the Rani-ki-Vav stepwell and other architectural wonders.
Today, visit Vadodara and the Laxmi Vilas Palace, home to the Maharajas of Baroda. Afterward, head to Champaner, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its 15th-century Islamic architecture. The Jama Masjid in Champaner is a must-see.
Travel to Dasada, a 2-3 hour drive, where you’ll check into an eco-resort amidst wetlands and farmlands. Enjoy a peaceful night at the resort.
In the morning, embark on a Jeep safari in Little Rann of Kutch to spot the Indian wild ass and other wildlife. Later, visit local villages known for their exquisite embroidery and traditional craftwork.
Leave after breakfast for Lothal, an important site of the ancient Indus Valley Civilization. Explore the archaeological remains, including the world’s oldest dockyard. Continue your journey to Palitana for the night.
Palitana is a significant Jain pilgrimage site with over 1300 temples. This morning, climb Shatrunjaya Hill to visit the sacred temples. Later, drive to Gondal, a picturesque town known for its wide tree-lined streets and heritage buildings.
Today, explore Gondal’s highlights, including the Riverside Palace, Naulakha Palace, and the Vintage Car Museum. Visit nearby villages like Bharwad for an authentic rural experience.
Drive to Bhuj, a city with a rich history dating back to the Indus Valley Civilization. Visit the Aina Mahal, Prag Mahal, and Kutch Museum, which houses a variety of archaeological artifacts and local crafts.
Embark on a day trip to Dholavira, a significant archaeological site dating back to the Indus Valley Civilization. Dholavira offers insights into ancient urban planning, water conservation systems, and the earliest known writing system.
Today, explore nearby villages where traditional crafts like embroidery, tie-dye, and block printing are practiced. Visit Mandvi, a coastal town with the Vijay Vilas Palace, which showcases royal architecture from the 1920s.
Bid farewell to Gujarat as you head to Bhuj for your flight to Mumbai, before continuing on to your next destination or heading home.
