Set out on an enchanting 14-day expedition through southern Odisha, delving into its vibrant culture, historic cities, and scenic beauty. Begin in Bhubaneswar, the capital city, where the grand Lingaraja Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and Vishnu, stands as a symbol of devotion. Wander through the bustling tribal markets of Rayagada, meeting the Kutiya Khonds and uncovering their unique traditions. Unwind on the pristine beaches of Golparpur before heading to Puri, home to the iconic Jagannath Temple, one of India’s sacred Char Dhams. The journey culminates in Kolkata, the city that shaped Mother Teresa’s mission, where you’ll visit her tomb and reflect on her legacy. This adventure offers a harmonious blend of spirituality, tradition, and natural splendor, promising an unforgettable immersion into the heart of Odisha and its timeless allure.

Itinerary

DAY 1 - Arrive in Kolkata

Arrive in Kolkata and receive a warm traditional welcome. Transfer to your hotel to relax or explore the city at leisure. Kolkata, located on the Hooghly River, is a cultural and commercial hub of East India.

DAY 2 - Kolkata to Bhubaneswar

Fly to Bhubaneswar, known as the “Temple City of India.” After checking into your hotel, visit the Lingaraja Temple, dedicated to Shiva and Vishnu, along with other temples like Bindu Sarovar and Kedareshwar.

DAY 3 - Explore Lalitagiri, Khandagiri, and Udayagiri

Embark on an excursion to the ancient sites of Lalitagiri, Khandagiri, and Udayagiri. Discover the crafts and pottery of Lalitagiri, then explore the intricately carved caves at Khandagiri and Udayagiri. Return to Bhubaneswar for the night.

DAY 4 - Bhubaneswar to Gopalpur

Drive to Gopalpur, known for its beautiful beaches and Krishna temple. Spend the evening relaxing by the beach.

DAY 5 - Gopalpur to Rayagada

Travel to Rayagada, where you’ll meet tribal communities and experience their traditional customs. Visit Langia Soura village and learn about their culture. In the evening, visit the tribal market before heading back to your hotel.

DAY 6 - Rayagada - Tribal Market Walk

Spend the day in Rayagada, visiting the Kutiya Khonds tribe and exploring the spice market. Gain insights into their lifestyle and traditions, then return to your hotel.

DAY 7 - Rayagada to Jeypore

Drive to Jeypore, surrounded by hills and lakes. After checking in, explore the temples of Kali and Neelkantheshwar, and if time allows, visit Jeypore Fort.

DAY 8 - Visit Onukudelli Villages

Visit the scenic village of Onukudelli, home to the Bonda, Gadaba, and Didayee tribes. Explore the markets for unique tribal artifacts and souvenirs before returning to Jeypore for the night.

DAY 9 - Jeypore to Taptapani

Drive to Taptapani, a picturesque destination with tribal communities. Relax at your hotel upon arrival.

DAY 10 - Taptapani to Puri

Enjoy the hot springs in Taptapani before heading to Puri. Stop at Chilka Lake, India’s largest brackish water lagoon, and continue to the spiritual city of Puri.

DAY 11 - Excursion to Konark

Visit the Jagannath Temple in Puri, a major pilgrimage site. Then, take a trip to Konark to explore the Sun Temple, a masterpiece of Odishan architecture. Return to Puri for an evening at the beach.

DAY 12 - Puri to Bhubaneswar

Relax at the Puri beach before traveling back to Bhubaneswar. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure, exploring the city.

DAY 13 - Bhubaneswar to Kolkata

Fly back to Kolkata. Visit key landmarks, including Mother Teresa’s tomb, Howrah Bridge, St. John Church, Victoria Memorial, and the Kali Temple along the Hooghly River. Return to your hotel for the night.

DAY 14 - Depart Kolkata

Transfer to the airport for your departure flight back home.
